Online shop of a maker of golf trolleys and accessories, in eight languages. After years of looking after the old shop, I carried out the move from Shopware 5 to Shopware 6 and have been responsible for the whole shop system since.
I’m Julian.
A designer at heart, a developer by conviction. I bring design, code and AI together into solutions that don’t just work, but are fun to use.
Freelancing since 2018, mostly for mid-sized companies in industry and retail. I take projects from design through development to operation, and you deal with the same person throughout.
On the side I build my own products like the Doppelgänger, my maintenance service for WordPress and Shopware. What I learn from them goes into my client projects.
I build websites, shops and web apps, from the interface through the APIs to the database. Every project is designed for short load times and accessibility, and your team maintains the content itself later on.
I automate recurring workflows and use AI where it takes work off your hands: from reading documents to an assistant that works with your own data.
Interactive 3D views and product configurators that show products and technical relationships clearly, right in the browser and on smartphones too.
Animations that unfold content step by step as you scroll, and subtle motion in the interface. Used deliberately, to guide the eye rather than distract.
Icons, infographics and illustrations as vector graphics: small files, crisp on every screen and a good basis for smooth animations.
Maintenance, updates and security for WordPress and Shopware: every change is rehearsed on a twin of your website before it goes live.

For a large B2B supplier of office and business equipment, I worked freelance in several Scrum teams. I implemented redesigns of the interface from the provided designs, in the company’s own shop system based on Java and FreeMarker, which is moving to Nuxt step by step.
My own maintenance service for WordPress and Shopware: every website gets a twin where updates and changes are tested first, plus nightly security checks and a complete record.
Website of a full-service provider for industrial automation and digitalization, in German and English. I built the design as a custom WordPress theme; the team edits the content itself in the page builder.
The snake classic as a 3D browser game, with power-ups that help you out of tight spots. Runs smoothly on smartphones too.
Website of a consulting team that supports fast-growing companies in funding rounds, transactions and growth. I built the design as a WordPress theme, with parallax effects that create depth.
Website of a private art academy with its course program, a gallery and applications for its study programs. I designed and built it, and it is maintained with the Doppelgänger.

Yes. Many projects start with an existing site. After a short review we decide together whether further development or a rebuild makes more sense.
For websites and shops mainly WordPress and Shopware, for highly interactive applications React and Next.js. The deciding factor is what your team will work with best later on.
After we get to know each other, I prepare a concept and a quote. Then come the design as a prototype and development on a test environment; after your sign-off the website goes live. You can see the current state at any time.
It depends on scope and features. After a first call you receive a fixed-price quote with a clearly described scope. For a first idea, see my guide to the cost of a WordPress website (in German).
Yes, with the Doppelgänger, my maintenance service for WordPress and Shopware. Updates are tested on a copy of your website first, plus nightly backups and security checks.
Both. I work from Düsseldorf for companies across Germany, mostly by phone and video call. For workshops and important meetings I’m happy to come to you.
